The Shiba Inu team has issued a critical warning to its community, alerting investors to the presence of fraudulent groups that are seeking to exploit the trust of SHIB investors for personal gain. This cautionary message from the team comes as the cryptocurrency scored another significant listing milestone with PayPal and Nexo. Users within the United States can now purchase SHIB through MoonPay and PayPal, opening avenues for adoption and potentially fueling a price increase.
PayPal Teams Up With MoonPay For SHIB Access
American multinational finance technology company PayPal has made a strategic partnership with MoonPay, a crypto payment platform, allowing US residents to access cryptocurrency assets like SHIB. MoonPay made the announcement via the X platform, revealing how PayPal can now offer seamless fiat-to-crypto transactions within the United States.
The integration of MoonPay’s services into PayPal marks a significant milestone in the growth of cryptocurrencies in the US. MoonPay has disclosed that it will allow PayPal users to purchase over 110 different cryptocurrencies, including the popular Shiba Inu.
Shiba Inu Team Cautions Against Scams
The Shiba Inu team has advocated for heightened vigilance against scams targeting community members. In a recent post on the X platform, Shibarmy Scam Alerts issued a stern warning regarding multiple scam attempts observed on the Telegram platform.
The popular scam tracker has urged community members to watch out for fake or fraudulent groups impersonating legitimate Shiba Inu channels on Telegram. They disclosed tactics employed by these deceptive channels, including “giveaways, exclusive content, investment opportunities, and offering assistance for transaction issues” in order to deceive unsuspecting community members and investors.
Aside from Telegram, the Shiba Inu community has also seen a rise in scam activities on X (formally Twitter). Numerous scammers are targeting community members using similar impersonation tactics along with phishing attacks. While informing Shiba Inu members of these latest scams which are attacking the community, Shibarmy Scam Alerts also outlined various ways SHIB investors could protect both their privacy and security. The SHIB tracker emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity of Telegram groups by checking for verification badges and announcements from reputable sources.
The scam tracker account also stressed the significance of avoiding suspicious links and refraining from sharing wallet addresses in public chat rooms to reduce the likelihood of becoming a primary target for malicious attackers. Finally, they reminded users to stay updated on security alerts and adhere to optimal security practices, such as reporting any suspicious scam activities to the relevant authorities.
SHIB Gets Listed By Crypto Exchange Nexo
Amidst efforts to combat scam attempts within the community, SHIB is celebrating another milestone as well, securing listings from another major exchange. Nexo, a Switzerland-based all-in-one crypto platform, announced in a post on X on May 7, that it has officially integrated Shiba Inu into its crypto offerings.
In the post, Nexo lauded Shiba Inu’s impressive growth over the years, highlighting the important role the Shiba Inu community, including its developer and dedicated supporters, has taken in boosting the development of the SHIB ecosystem.
This listing comes as SHIB’s demand in the broader crypto market is constantly growing at a rapid pace. Including Nexo, over 50 other crypto platforms or exchanges have now listed the SHIB token. Some of these include Binance, Robinhood, Coinbase, and Bitget.
